i'm Eric. born in Cape Girardeau, MO some time ago, i am a millennial, and a practitioner of the art of cooking (cooking=art, baking=science). i have been blessed in many ways...
firstly, to God i owe everything.
family. has given to me the gifts of knowing what it is like to have a daily dinner together, nearly every night of my life until i moved to live on my own (more on that to come). certain other appreciations slowly grew into my life, like knowing where my food came from. where did the turkey come from you ask? well, i could tell you from the time i was four because it was likely the end product from my father's successful hunt the week before... and so forth.

19th birthday, just before the move out |
friends. have always been there for me, at times with inspiration for me to cook BUT most often there for me to share a great meal with (i.e. cook for them). and increasingly more in my single days of cooking for one, many 'friendly inspirations' have come from fellow chefs, bakers and quality people that share their talents, humor and wonderous recipes online (check them out on my 'blog list').

a fitting graduation gift |
profession/passions (all self-claimed). i am an environmental(ist) engineer, photographer, and chef. in the reverse order, you would have my life's most current and strongest passions. my undergraduate (extracurricular) work was mostly centered around the grassroots environmental movement that my millennial generation is working with enduring persistence to create cleaner, safer, and healthier communities. my graduate work is now a bit more specialized, and in the category i love most, food.
